5 timeless lessons from “Feeling Is A Secret” by Neville Goddard

Normally, I really hate books about the Law Of Attraction.

Sure, they teach you how to attract your desires by feeling as if you already have it. But here’s the problem: These are band-aid solutions. They might butter up your situation, but neglect far more critical, underlying question:

  • How do ACTUALLY stop chasing and start acting?

Luckily, I found some intriguing answers when I stumbled upon Neville Gossard’s Feeling Is The Secret.

The best part was how it focuses on just one concept of “the feeling” (as apparent in the title) that resonates deeply, offering timeless lessons that can transform how we perceive and interact with our desires.

Think of it as creating a white-golden circle around yourself. Then being in the state of you already having what you want.

From my personal experience- I think it works faster if you make it more specific and interesting.

And I don’t know why people don’t talk about it but…. throw some MUSIC in while you’re at it.

I’ve manifested being in a private concert, events, etc. (without even realizing it) just by listening to the music with my eyes closed and feeling as if I’m in a live audience. I used to do this every day while walking at home.

Here I’ve compiled my top 5 insights from this book:

1. Consciousness is the Key to Creation

Everything we experience is a reflection of our conditioned consciousness. To manifest effectively, we must understand that our thoughts and feelings shape our world. By controlling our consciousness, we can build and maintain an ideal life.

  • Key Insight: Your external world mirrors your internal state.

2. Feeling is the Medium of Creation

Goddard’s philosophy lies in the idea that feelings are the only medium through which ideas can be impressed upon the subconscious. To manifest a desire, one must genuinely feel as though it has already been realized. This emotional engagement is crucial; without it, our desires remain unexpressed.

  • Key Insight: What you feel, you create.

3. Sleep and Prayer as Tools for Manifestation

Sleep and prayer as gateways to the subconscious are the best states for getting into that feeling without any resistance. Before sleep, it is essential to assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled. This practice not only impresses the subconscious but also aligns your mind with your desires, setting the stage for manifestation.

  • Key Insight: Enter sleep with the consciousness of your wish fulfilled.

4. The Power of Assumption

Assuming the feeling of already possessing what you desire is a powerful technique. Neville says that by embodying the state of having your desire, you compel the subconscious to bring that state into reality.

Use of 5 senses actively to get into that feeling. For e.g. If you want a car- Think and feel holding the steering wheel if your dream car, the smell of new leather, the ruffle of new packaging on the seats etc.

  • Key Insight: Assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled to manifest it.

5. Your Reality is Within You

Ultimately, he teaches that all external conditions are reflections of our internal beliefs and feelings. To change your reality, you must first change how you feel about yourself and your desires. This shift in perception is the foundation of effective manifestation.

  • Key Insight: Change your inner world to transform your outer world.

Conclusion:

The feeling is the Secret is not just a book; it’s a roadmap for establishing a profound connection between our feelings and the reality we create.

Remember no matter how tough the situation may feel… that the key to attracting your desires lies not in the external world but in the internal mastery of your thoughts and feelings.

Last tip before I bid adieu — Search for and listen to guided meditations on YouTube (specific to your goals) before you go to sleep. They work all the time.
